Weather was not too good (heavy rain showers and cold) but our visitors seemed to enjoy themselves and our new promotional leaflets went down well. The miniature railway was partially indoors with an outdoor stretch for the brave, the (extended) model railway worked for the first time and the Shark was open to the public. The DMU was also open for viewing. We also had a 5" gauge loco on display - a Swansea Dock Tank and a beautiful scale brake van on the test bench. A G-gauge class 66 also had an airing and Easter Bunny attended. Moves are now afoot to make the 10 1/4" miniature railway a permanent fixture outside, but located in such a way that it does not affect the forthcoming extension. Its likely position is alongside the Community Route, heading south. Particular thanks should go to the gentleman who visited all the way from Carlisle! Thanks for your support! The next open day is likely to be at the end of May. Click the images to view larger versions. |
